In this policy

1.Who we are and what this policy covers

Progress To Propel (in Spanish, PROgresar Para Avanzar) is an educational and motivational content project for the Hispanic community in the United States and for people of all cultures.

The controller of your personal data is O2 INNOVATE LLC, the company that operates the PROgresar Para Avanzar / Progress To Propel brand, based in the State of New York, United States. In this policy we refer to it as “we” or “us”.

This policy applies to:

  • The websites progresstopropel.com and progresarparaavanzar.com, including their “www” versions.
  • Our mailing list (newsletter) and the messages we send to subscribers.
  • Any questions and requests you send us by email.

It does not apply to third-party platforms such as YouTube or social media, which have their own policies (see section 12).

2.Data we collect

We only collect the data you give us when you subscribe, a record of your consent, and some basic technical browsing data.

Data When we collect it Is it required?
Email address When you subscribe through the form Yes
Name When you subscribe through the form No
Consent record: box checked, exact text you accepted, date and time (UTC) When you submit the form Yes, in order to subscribe
Language you viewed the page in (Spanish or English) and the address of the page you subscribed from When you submit the form Recorded automatically
Date of registration When you submit the form Recorded automatically
Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of the visit When you visit the site (server logs) Recorded automatically
What you write to us and your email address If you contact us by email Only if you write to us

We do not ask for sensitive data, such as health information, religion, immigration status, identification numbers or financial data. Please do not include it in the form or in your messages.

3.How we use your data

We use your data only to communicate with you about Progress To Propel and to keep the site secure.

Purpose Legal basis
Sending you news about the channel launch and, later, our newsletter with content, updates and resources Your consent
Greeting you by name and writing to you in your language Your consent
Keeping proof that you agreed to receive emails and honoring your unsubscribe request Compliance with legal obligations
Protecting the site against spam, abuse and technical failures Legitimate interest in keeping the site secure
Answering your questions and requests about your data Your request and compliance with legal obligations

What we will never do:

  • Sell, rent or trade your data.
  • Share it with advertisers or use it for third-party advertising.
  • Email you about topics unrelated to our project.
  • Build profiles about you or make automated decisions that affect you.

If we ever want to use your data for a different purpose, we will tell you first and, where the law requires it, ask for your new consent.

4.Your consent and how to withdraw it

We only subscribe you if you check the consent box yourself; it is never pre-checked.

When you submit the form, we save the exact text you accepted, the date and time, the language and the page you subscribed from. This lets us prove that you gave us permission. If you subscribe twice with the same email, we keep only one record.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, without giving a reason:

  • Through the unsubscribe link we will include in every email.
  • By writing to our contact email (section 14) with the subject line “Unsubscribe”.

We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. Withdrawing your consent does not affect how we used your data while you were subscribed.

5.Who we share your data with

We only share data with the service providers we need to run the site and the newsletter. They act on our behalf and under their own security and privacy terms.

Provider What we use it for Data it may process
Hostinger Website hosting and security certificates (SSL) Technical browsing data
Google (Google Workspace, Google Sheets and Apps Script) Receiving and storing subscriptions Name, email, language and consent record
Google Fonts Displaying the site’s fonts IP address and browser data
Email delivery platform (for example, MailerLite or Brevo), once we start sending the newsletter Sending emails and managing unsubscribes Name, email and language

We may also disclose data if a law, court order or competent authority requires it, or to protect people’s rights and safety.

If the project changes ownership, your data would pass to the new controller under this same policy, and we would notify you in advance.

6.Cookies, third-party resources and “Do Not Track” signals

Our site does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not use tracking pixels. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technical cookies for the security and proper operation of the site.

To display our fonts, your browser connects to Google Fonts servers, which receive your IP address. You can read how Google handles that data in its privacy policy.

Because we do not track your activity across other sites, we do not need to respond differently to your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal: we simply do not track you.

If we ever add embedded videos, analytics tools or other technologies that use cookies, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your permission before turning them on.

7.International transfers

We are a United States–based project, so your data is stored and processed in the U.S. and in the countries where our service providers operate.

If you subscribe from another country, for example from Latin America or the European Union, your data will be transferred to the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. We work with established providers that offer recognized mechanisms for these transfers, and we apply this policy no matter where you live.

8.How long we keep your data

We keep your data only while you remain subscribed, and afterwards only the minimum needed to show that we respected your decision.

Data How long we keep it
Subscription name, email and language While you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove them from the active list within 10 business days.
Consent and unsubscribe records Up to 3 years after you unsubscribe, solely as legal proof.
Your email on our suppression list As long as needed to avoid emailing you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete it as well.
Technical browsing data The limited period set by our hosting provider for security and statistics.
Emails you send us Up to 2 years after your request is resolved.

If you ask us to delete all your data, we will do so, except for any information the law requires us to keep.

9.How we protect your information

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorized access or misuse:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS with an SSL certificate) on progresstopropel.com and progresarparaavanzar.com.
  • Access to the subscriber list limited to the project account and authorized people.
  • Accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step verification.
  • Form filters against automated submissions (spam) and malicious code injection.
  • We do not ask for passwords, payment details or identity documents.

No system is 100% secure. If an incident affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities when the law requires it, without undue delay.

10.Your rights and how to exercise them

We recognize these rights for everyone, wherever they live, and exercising them is free.

Right What it means
Access Know whether we hold your data, what it is and how we use it.
Correction Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion Ask us to delete your data.
Objection and withdrawal of consent Stop receiving our emails at any time.
Restriction Ask us to stop using your data while we resolve a request from you.
Portability Receive your data in a commonly used format.
Non-discrimination Exercise your rights without being treated differently for doing so.

How to exercise them: email our contact address (section 14) with the subject line “Privacy”. Tell us what you need and the email you subscribed with. To protect your data, we may confirm your identity by replying to that same email.

Response times: we answer questions within 10 business days, and correction or deletion requests within 15 business days. If we need more time, we will explain why.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you additional rights, and we will respect them. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the data protection authority in your country, for example Colombia’s Superintendence of Industry and Commerce or your national supervisory authority in the European Union.

11.Children

Our newsletter is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

12.Third-party links

Our site links to our YouTube channel and may link to our social media profiles or other websites. When you visit them, you leave our site and those platforms’ privacy policies apply, not this one.

We recommend reviewing, for example, Google’s privacy policy, which applies to YouTube.

13.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, our providers or the law change. We will post each version on this page with its update date.

If a change is significant, for example a new way of using your data, we will notify subscribers by email before it takes effect. You can ask us for previous versions at any time.

14.Contact

For any question, request or complaint about your data, email us with the subject line “Privacy”:

This policy was originally written in Spanish and is also available in Spanish at progresarparaavanzar.com. If there is any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version prevails.
